Ibanez AEL 108TD-NT1201 modified bouzouki-guitar

This is a modified Ibanez AEL 108TD-NT1201 that has been successfully converted into a very cool bouzouki-guitar.

The original instrument is an 8 string guitar (basically a 6 string with double E and B strings to get that 12 string sound in a very easy to play instrument).

This instrument was modified by a qualified luthier who narrowed the nut to make it a successful bouzouki-guitar, gazuki or whatever you want to call it.

It is an inexpensive way to get a very nice guitar shaped bouzouki.

The main advantage of this body design is that it is far more comfortable on your lap than a "tear" shaped traditional bouzouki.

By the way, when we say bouzouki we mean the Irish version which actually has more in common with the mandolin family than with the traditional Greek instrument.

Currently strung with unison strings that are suitable for either GDAE. GDAD or ADAD tunings. Other tunings are possible by using other strings. If you prefer octave strings these will work fine too.
